Frequently asked questions.

How is a Private Session different from Yoga Therapy?

Traditional private yoga sessions typically focus on building strength, flexibility, and relaxation through personalized movement and breath practices. Yoga Therapy, on the other hand, is a more in-depth approach that uses the tools of yoga — movement, breath, meditation, lifestyle, and more — to support your overall well-being. It’s a collaborative process, often slower-paced and more intentional, with the goal of supporting healing, balance, and nervous system regulation in a way that’s tailored to your unique needs and life.

Isn’t Yoga already therapeutic?

Yes — yoga can be incredibly therapeutic in any setting. But yoga therapy takes things a step further. Unlike group classes, which are designed for a general audience, yoga therapy is completely personalized. It’s a one-on-one process that considers your unique physical, mental, and emotional needs, and offers specific practices to support healing, balance, and long-term well-being in a more focused, intentional way.

Why would/should I explore Private Sessions?

Private sessions offer a space that’s all about you — your body, your needs, your pace. Whether you're brand new to yoga, working with an injury, managing stress, or simply craving more personalized support, private sessions allow us to tailor every aspect of the practice to meet you where you are. It’s a flexible, focused way to deepen your connection to yourself and your practice.

Why would/should I explore Yoga Therapy?

Yoga Therapy is ideal if you're looking for a more holistic, individualized approach to support your well-being. Whether you're navigating stress, anxiety, fatigue, pain, or simply want to feel more balanced and resilient, yoga therapy offers tools tailored specifically to you. It’s a collaborative, one-on-one process that goes beyond movement — integrating breathwork, mindfulness, and lifestyle practices to support healing and long-term nervous system regulation.

What should I expect from a Private Session?

Each private session is personalized to meet you where you are. We’ll start with a brief check-in to see how you’re feeling physically, mentally, and emotionally, then move into practices that support your needs — whether that’s movement, breathwork, relaxation, or a combination. You’ll be guided at a comfortable pace, with plenty of space for questions, adjustments, and rest. It’s your time to reconnect, reset, and receive one-on-one support in a calm, welcoming environment.

What should I expect from a Yoga Therapy Session?

Yoga Therapy sessions are one-on-one and fully tailored to your specific goals, concerns, and lifestyle. We’ll begin with a deeper intake and conversation to explore what’s going on for you — physically, emotionally, or energetically — and from there, we’ll co-create a practice using tools like movement, breath, meditation, and more. Sessions are slow-paced, collaborative, and focused on supporting long-term balance and well-being, with plenty of space for rest, reflection, and ongoing support.

What does the Yoga Therapy process look like?

Yoga Therapy is intentionally set up as a 5 Session investment to start.

In the first session we conduct an in depth intake conversation where we will discuss what brings you to Yoga Therapy, as well as what you’re looking to gain from the experience. From there we will move through a few assessments, observing anything from posture and range of movement to perceived stress and anxiety, and even your quality of sleep and life! These assessments will form the basis from which we will return to in order to gauge how much progress we have made towards your specified goal, which we will also discuss and set during that initial session.

In session two we will have an initial check-in conversation before we move back through the assessments performed in session one. Here we will also introduce a personalized home practice for you to practice on your own, outside of Yoga Therapy. This home practice will be fully customized to help move you toward your goal, while meeting you where you currently are, whether that’s practicing once a week or once a day!

In sessions three and four we will start with a nice check-in, this time also paying special attention to your progress with the home practice, what is working, what need to be changed, etc. Once again, we will return to those initial assessments, gauging your progress toward your specified goal.

During the fifth session we will return to that in-depth intake conversation, and reflect on your journey through Yoga Therapy. We will also conduct the assessments once more to determine how much progress was made toward your goal, whether or not we achieved that goal, and from there determine whether Yoga Therapy is something that you would like to continue on with moving forward.
